I believe that therapy should meet you where you are. My work is integrative and person-centred, meaning I draw from different therapeutic approaches depending on your unique needs, goals, and experiences. There’s no one-size-fits-all in counselling—each person’s story deserves its own care and understanding.

With individuals, I often blend techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and values-based living. I also integrate attachment theory, narrative therapy, and mindfulness-based practices to help clients explore their stories, strengthen self-compassion, and foster connection with themselves and others.

When working with couples, I primarily draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and The Gottman Method. These approaches help partners build understanding, navigate conflict more effectively, and create stronger emotional bonds rooted in trust and communication.

At the heart of my practice is the belief that healing happens through connection, curiosity, and collaboration. My role is to walk alongside you—to listen, guide, and help you uncover the tools and insight you already carry within.

I’m Amanda, a counsellor in Victoria, BC. My path to counselling has been anything but linear, and I believe that’s part of what makes me relatable to the people I work with.

I began my career with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and business, which led me into the world of IT, where I currently manage a small software company. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how important communication, empathy, and understanding are—whether in the workplace, in relationships, or within ourselves. Those lessons naturally drew me back to my original passion: supporting people in finding connection and meaning in their lives.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years volunteering in mental health, including work on suicide lines and with individuals struggling with eating disorders. These experiences deepened my belief in the power of genuine human connection and the resilience we all carry within us.

I bring this blend of personal, professional, and volunteer experience into my counselling work. I’m particularly interested in relationship dynamics and couples counselling, eating disorders, as well as helping individuals navigate life transitions, anxiety, and self-discovery.

Outside of work, I love being outdoors, playing soccer, watching sports, and spending time with loved ones. I value laughter, curiosity, and authenticity—and I strive to bring those same qualities into the counselling room.
